Seatrade Announces Acquisition of Scallop Processing Facility

Seatrade International Co., LLC (Seatrade) is pleased to announce the acquisition of a 66,000 square foot scallop processing facility in New Bedford, MA. The facility is expected to increase capacity and improve efficiencies for the company. Seatrade, combined with its affiliated ompanies, ranks among the Top 25 North American Seafood Suppliers as published by SeafoodSource.com.

Seatrade plans to relocate its fresh scallop processing operations from its current location at 8 outh
Street New Bedford to the previously BRC certified waterfront facility. In addition to scallops, AHG plans to process lobster products at the facility. With the addition of lobster processing the employment base could increase to as many as 200 employees.

Seatrade’s growing fin-fish operation, which is focused on exports of North Atlantic fish species, will remain at its current 8 South Street, New Bedford location. Both New Bedford facilities are expected to undergo some renovation as the company prepares to expand current processing
capabilities. Seatrade will continue to operate its frozen scallop processing facility in Lakeville MA.
